Claude Grosjean was born in 1975 in Liechtenstein. He is a lawyer and holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Bern. After first working at a small law firm, he moved to the Federal Tax Administration in 2007 as a policy advisor in the field of value added tax. From 2011 he was head of the Value Added Tax Policy Division. Since 2015 he has been deputy head of the Tax Legislation Division and responsible for all tax legislation at federal level. He is a member of the OECD Working Party No. 9 on Consumption Taxes and was part of the OECD BEPS Task Force on the Digital Economy from 2014 to 2016, which addressed the tax challenges arising from digitalisation. Claude Grosjean has served as a member of the Bern City Parliament since 2009.
