Walter Trezek worked more than 35 years in the postal industry. First in the manufacturing of franking meters and inserters, then in developing the digital postage mark for the US-Postal Service and as part of the successful IPO team of Stamps.com in the US, 1999. He was invited to become Chief Technology Officer of Austria Post in 1999, build their address data system for automation and delivery and led their sales department until 2004. Ever since, he is directly involved in shaping the future of hybrid, secured electronic postal and trust services in various functions in National, European and International Standardisation & Regulation. He is the Co-Chair of Ecommerce Europe’s e-logistics task force, member of European Commission Expert Groups for VAT, Transport and Logistics, and was elected in 2016 Chair of the Consultative Committee of the Universal Postal Union (a special organisation of the United Nation, to secure the organization and improvement of the postal services worldwide).
